Transitions Film Festival
Posted by James Zarucky
11. Feb, 2013
The Transitions Film Festival returns to Melbourne for its second year, with events taking place at Federation Square, ACMI and Cinema Nova. A fusion of sustainability, environmentalism and cinema, the Transitions Film festival showcases a number of documentaries highlighting the efforts of those who work around the globe to ensure its continued survival.
Notably, the festival will be hosting national premiere of Gus Van Sant’s Promised Land, which was co-written by its star Matt Damon and explores the controversial topic of coal seam mining. The program also features discussions and forums with filmmakers and local sustainability leaders.
As an added sweetener, riding you bike to events held at Cinema Nova will entitle you to concession prices.
The second annual Transitions Film Festival takes place from 15- 23 Feb.
Tickets and further info can be found at transitionsfilmfestival.com
