Motherf##ker in a Hat

18. Jun, 2012
Jackie comes home with great news, he’s gotten a job. Veronica, his long time girlfriend, is ecstatic as it’s been a long road since Jackie got out of prison. The discovery of a man’s hat and a full ashtray in their bedroom sparks a fight and Jackie explodes out of the flat in search of the ‘motherf##ker in the hat.’
Motherf##ker in a Hat marks a departure from Red Stitch’s usual fare – the set design, use of projection and killer soul/dance soundtrack ups the energy and creates a pitch-perfect mood. David Bell’s direction is tight, and although it runs 20 minutes too long the production is so crisp it doesn’t sag. Recommended.
Motherf##ker in a Hat is now showing at Red Stitch Actors Theatre until July 7
