Photographer of the Week: Sarah Walker
Posted by Paul Drury
13. Apr, 2012
Sarah is a Melbourne based photographer who has been shooting since 2008, when her parents finally wrenched back their point and click camera so they could photograph the dog and forced her to buy her own.
Since then, she has been shooting relentlessly and throwing herself into projects – whether it be shooting a self portrait every day for a year, dragging forty people to the beach in midwinter to model or subjecting her friends to water, powder, fire and tears – she is constantly seeking new ways to capture moments of incandescence, beauty and connection.
Sarah works extensively in the Melbourne independent theatre scene, which provides her with constant access to exhibitionist artists with madcap concepts for photos, which suits her very well indeed.
