Pasta Poetry

If there’s anything lockdowns have taught us, it’s the delicious warmth a home-cooked meal delivers, and what’s more comforting than a hearty bowl of pasta? Pasta Poetry brings handmade pasta to your table with their team doing all the work of preparing the perfect meal so that all you need to do is cook it up!

Pasta Poetry is a concept – a celebration of freshly made and handcrafted pasta that you can experience in the comfort of your home. The inspiration for Pasta Poetry came from walking through the laneways and porticos of Bologna, which honoured the artisans and food traditions. It’s a passion project that’s been a long time coming according to owner, Theo Krambias who owned and managed local coffee haunt CH James at the same address.

‘My team and I have spent the last few years perfecting the art of freshly made pasta, creating authentic sauces and garnishes to match. All we require our customers to do is have a spare 5 minutes to boil the water,’ says Krambias.

Krambias’s team includes Executive Chef Elena Kavallaris who spent six months in Bologna immersing herself in the food scene perfecting her craft in the traditions of pasta making. Also on board is Head Chef Robin Turner, former Head Chef at La Luna Bistro in Carlton and Zsa’s Bar and Bistro in Northcote.

Speaking about the crafting process Krambias describes how perfection is delivered.

‘The team work together to produce the best quality pasta … the dough is rolled 70 times before it is ready to be cut for Tortellini by Elena, the fillings like the Ox Cheek are perfectly balanced by Robin and once ready to appear at the shop front for sale, Front of House Manager Ciara will take the time to understand the customers preferences and requirements,’ comments Krambias.

Pasta Poetry don’t just provide the main event, they aim to cater to your every need. Purchase fresh potato with roasted garlic focaccias, perfectly matched wines, tiramisu and all the finishes, including herb butters, fresh herbs, various sauces and cheeses. Seasonal products will also be on offer to keep the menu fresh, as well as gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options.

With our newfound freedom, anyone can head out to their Fairfield boutique store. For those who have chosen to make the hermit life permanent, pop an order through their online store and wait for perfection to arrive on your doorstep. Welcome Pasta Poetry – an experience shared between cities of Bologna and Melbourne, between cultures, between families, between friends. Around the dining table. Around the world. The experience of pasta brings us together.

Pasta Poetry is located at 86 Station Street, Fairfield in Melbourne.
