In order to survive, the COVID-19 pandemic forced many businesses to adopt a digital approach to reach their customers. For the most part this was a massive success, and for some, there’s no turning back. Now, a 142-year-old institution has joined them. Queen Victoria Market has taken its fresh produce and specialty food online with the launch of its new shopping platform: Queen Victoria Market Online.
Just in time for Christmas, Melburnians are now able to shop more than 2,000 products from 45 of their favourite Queen Victoria Market traders across meat, fish, poultry, fruit and vegetables, bread, eggs, deli, nuts, organics, coffee, tea, wine, craft beer and much more. Most importantly, hot jam doughnuts are included in their offering!
Shoppers can order from their favourite trader or from multiple traders in one quick checkout. ‘This is an organic next step for Queen Victoria Market. It’s about giving Melburnians the choice to shop their favourite market at a time that is most convenient for them – whether that be online or in-person at the Market,’ comments Queen Victoria Market CEO, Stan Liacos.
The new service features handy same-day delivery via Sherpa (for orders placed before 10am on Market days) to more than 150 suburbs with the choice of two delivery windows: 12pm–4pm or 4pm–8pm. Customers can also click and collect from a conveniently located pickup zone in the Market’s car park between 12pm–7pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 12pm–5pm on weekends.
As we ease ourselves back into normality, why not continue to let a bit of Melbourne be delivered to your doorstep?
