Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

This July, the women of Melbourne will be treated to an event that offers everything from live female DJ’s and guest speakers, to donuts and cocktails, to photo booths and flower walls for the perfect Instagram photo, to grazing tables and goodie bags. Most importantly, the event presents a chance for women to meet and mingle with like-minded women.

The Girls Just Wanna Have Fun event is set to run on Saturday, 14 July, thanks to the founder of the Melbourne female networking group My Go To Gal (MGTG), Alyssa Ho. Ho has over 14,000 Instagram followers, and launched the networking group for women two years ago.

Since its launch in 2017, MGTG has brought together over 400 women to make new friends, and create genuine connections with people they might never have met. It has become a networking group like no other, and after hosting over 10 events in the past two years, Ho is hoping this next event will take the group up to over 500 women.

Ho was inspired by the number of women who messaged her on Instagram, “expressing love or heartache,” and relating to what she was sharing on her page. ‘I saw the need and perfect opportunity to create a community where they could form friendships with those in the same position as them. I wanted them to be able to seek advice from those who would understand them and as a reply, make them realise they’re not alone in whatever they’re going through,’ she says.

MGTG is a great way to make a new friend or to expand your social circle, there are hundreds of what Ho dubs “beautiful souls” at every event. Everyone attends the events for the same reason, so there’s no need to stress or worry, everybody there wants to be your friend too. It’s an opportunity to open up new doors, make connections, all while having fun at the same time.

Complete with a live female DJ, donut wall, photo booth, pink Prosecco cocktails, BFF speed dating, and so much more, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun should be on your social calendar. Did we mention that all the vendors at the event are run by different boss babes?

If you are looking for a new coffee date pal or some friends for a girl’s night out, My Go To Gal is the place for you.

Somewhere Else video sings of summer

It almost sounds like the premise of a reality TV show: pile a bunch of artists in a bus for seven days, send them across Mexico and see what happens.
