Photographer of the week: Lucy Spartalis
Posted by Kate Starke
09. Aug, 2013
Inspired by the works of artists such as Erwin Olaf, Storm Thorgerson and Autumn De Wilde, photographer Lucy Spartalis captures creative people — musicians, dancers, artists, couples in love — utilising beautiful light and rich colours to compose her striking portraiture.
After studying at the Centre for Creative Photography in South Australia, Lucy relocated to Melbourne in 2009 and now works alongside her filmmaker-partner Alastair Innes, forming the duo She Takes Pictures He Makes Films.
Now living and working in Collingwood, Lucy uses photography to tell the stories of her clients, whether it’s through a promotional shoot for an album cover, a magazine editorial or coverage of their wedding day.
