Sydney Sweeney fans unite! If you were obsessed with her scene-stealing performances in Euphoria and The White Lotus, prepare to be hooked by her next role in the riveting, single-location thriller Reality. Based on true events, the film is centred on 25-year-old Reality Winner, a former American intelligence specialist, who is subject to a home raid by FBI agents. From there, a game of psychological manoeuvres and cryptic wordplay ensue to determine whether classified documents were leaked in the 2016 US elections. 

Truth, power and the flawed US legal system are themes that are placed in a pressure cooker and spectacularly on display over the course of one afternoon when Reality Winner returns home from running casual errands to find two FBI agents waiting for her, played by Josh Hamilton and Marchánt Davis. An Air Force veteran and yoga instructor, she is questioned about her work as an intelligence contractor and pressed on whether she leaked classified material about Russian interference. 

Written and directed by Tina Satter, what makes Reality unique is that all the dialogue is taken from an FBI transcript, adding another level of tension, and placing the audience with an all-too-uncomfortable and eerie feeling that this could happen to anyone. The film is an intimate portrait of a struggle between citizens and country and the entrenched power of law enforcement.
