Miss Ping’s brings a touch of Bangkok glamour to the newly refurbished shopping centre The Glen. This enticing venture has been created by hospitality veteran and Thailander owner, Winnie Chiang. Milk Bar were invited to the opening night festivities and left very full and very satisfied.

More than just Pad Thai and Green Curry, Miss Ping’s presents a modern take on authentic Thai cuisine with zing and flair. Chiang has done well to encase your dining experience in stunning decor. On arrival we stepped into a tropical setting complete with 1940s-style wicker chairs and tropical wallpaper. A huge banana plant features in the middle of the restaurant. In short, it’s like stepping into the mystery and intrigue of a night in Bangkok.

Open seven nights a week, the restaurant boasts a full-service lunch and dinner menu complete with fruit-laden cocktail bar. On the buzzing opening night, we were invited to sample a few signature dishes. First up was a toasted coconut prawn served with sriracha lime mayo, salted peanut and coconuts flakes – simply scrumptious, and I may have grabbed more than one. Next, green curry with chicken – I know this is a basic, but green is not normally my colour (I prefer red) and yet this was delightfully creamy and the chicken melted in your mouth. There was also Som Tam Thai to cool the palate (green papaya slaw, tomatoes, dried shrimps, peanuts, pork crackling) and fried rice for those less adventurous with spice.

With a menu jam packed with over 100 items, accompanied with mouth-watering food photography, your only problem will be picking what to eat!

Miss Ping’s is a celebration of Thailand at its finest: bright lights, scrumptious delicacies with an element of surprise. You can find Miss Ping’s in the outdoor precinct at The Glen.
