Party Snake

Sparkle, extravagant costumes and glamour never looked so en pointe until Kotryna Gesait’s one-kween show. Part of Midsumma Festival, Party Snake aims to delve deep into the world of drag on a raw, personal and deeply philosophical level for three show-stopping nights at the Hare Hole.

On-stage from Tuesday, 5 February, Party Snake presents a candid view of the world of drag. While all things drag have really taken off in mainstream pop culture with RuPaul’s Drag Race, Gesait’s show comments on the pre-conceived ideas of gender and sexual identification that prevail in the drag community. It looks to tell hidden stories of the art form, which may or may not push the bounds of comfort for the audience.

Featuring veteran musical theatre actor and creator of The Tilly Project, Lachlan Martin – look him up at @lachielove! – the entertaining show will transport you to a world of drug use, fake eyelashes and wisdom, and hopefully, you’ll learn how to correctly contour your nose along the way. We are big fans of Gesait – 2018 was nothing short of spectacular for the New York City playwright. Her previous shows The Cocoon and This-That turned heads and received critical acclaim for her writing and deft direction. We are sure Party Snake will slither in with all the acerbic wit, punchy lines and hilarity Gesait is known for.

So book some tickets, grab a glass of sparkling and prepare to lip sync for your life.
