Asian fusion restaurant and rooftop bar Red Piggy has opened up in the heart of the Melbourne CBD. Located on the corner of Little Bourke and Swanston Streets, Red Piggy’s twist on classic Southeast Asian flavours will leave your tastebuds wanting more.

Inspired by the vibrant and rich history of the old French Indochina region, this rooftop bar is unlike any other, and will be the highlight of your summertime drinks.

Red Piggy is able to cater for all: from an intimate dinner setting to after-work drinks and dinner. The range of cocktails on the menu will keep everybody happy – even after a long day at work!

For those that enjoy a sweet fruity flavour, the ‘Purple Tropical’ is the choice for you. The purple concoction is created with a splash of vodka, blueberry, pineapple, apple and orange juice. As for those who are after something a bit stronger, the ‘Enershock’ will help with those afternoon blues, combining the tastes of Cointreau, vanilla Galliano, strawberry liqueur, and topped with Red Bull.

Don’t get too ahead of yourself with the cocktail list though, it will be just as hard to decide what food you’re going to eat. The highlights include Braised Robbins Island wagyu in a mini baguette, topped with pickled cucumber and fried shallots. The lemongrass chicken skewers, toasted rice salad, topped with durian dressing hits the palate in all sorts of different ways. Be sure not to go past the slow-cooked lamb neck in rich red Thai curry, Thai basil and sticky rice. The lamb falls apart with one touch, and is any foodies dream dish.

The interior design provides a casual vibe, with handmade Vietnamese and Laotian baskets surrounding the roof lights, as well as a big neon sign that reads: Spring rolls, yes. You, maybe. Red Piggy is a place you will want to put at the top of your to-do list.

The rooftop views offer a stunning view of the city skyline, and if you look down, you can see buzzing Swanston Street down below. As we head into 2019, Red Piggy is the place to sink a cocktail and watch the sun go down.

Don’t worry if you over indulge though, the elevator is there to take you back down to the ground floor.
