Tinny Pie Party

If you’re looking for a buzzing, crust-filled day-drinking venue this weekend then look no further than The Pie Shop. The guys from the Nicholson Street establishment have teamed up with Young Henrys – a hip Sydney beer label – for the first-ever Tinny Pie Party, a day full of funky tunes, fun competitions and prizes, and freshly-baked golden pies.

Kicking off from 3.00pm to 10.00pm, you are likely going to cross paths with Kevin (a green beans, artichoke, tomato and feta pie) or Henry (a beef and ale pie). The Little Rex (a kangaroo and veg pie) is available for your furry sidekick, so feel free to bring along your dog to the event. If you’re looking for the perfect sides, oysters – served natural with Young Henrys Bloody Mary dressing – and steaming dim sims are on offer.

Founded by chef Matt Wilkinson in May 2017, The Pie Shop has become a popular hotspot and is extremely busy over the weekend, a testament to the consistent quality and dedication Wilkinson and the team put into their range of pies. The pies are made in-house and source local ingredients, including Alphington Rooftop Honey, which they use for their delectable dessert pie.

Young Henrys’ tale started over a beer in a bar. Co-founders Richard Adamson and Oscar McMahon united over their mutual love of beer and their vision to create an adventorous, innovative and fun Australian brew. A few beers later and the duo have built Young Henrys in breakneck speed while managing to maintain its local and environmentally aware principles.

Head down to the free event, grab yourself a pie and tinny and get ready to party. Weekend sorted.
