Not every food deserves its own Palooza event. Lobster is such a beast.

Next week the Albert Park Hotel is hosting the inaugural Lobster Palooza – an epicurean orgy of lobster bits, crusty-acean buns, bisque and booze.

For the last few years the Albert Park has hosted Oyster frenzy and has moved from molluscs into more clawful territory. This time around the little suckers will be appearing in everything from medallions, dumplings, rolls, salads, BLT, bisque, croquettas, rice-paper rolls, mousse and thermidor.

Making up the Palooza billing will be special appearances by oysters, prawns, mussels, clams, crab and Moreton Bay bugs in an all-start lineup of Aussie seafood. And it then there’s Chandon plus Little Creatures beer and  bunch of boutique beers and Mr Pilkington’s Miracle Cider ciders.

Music to any seafood lover’s ears.

Lobster Palooza is on Thurs 29 May at Albert Park Hotel – 83 Dundas Place, Albert Park.
6.30pm – 9pm, tickets $79 pp and includes all seafood + sparkling, wine beer and cider .
