PARK[ing] Day
Posted by Paul Drury
18. Sep, 2013
The international event is put on by Architecture for Humanity and encourages people and businesses to transform metered parking spaces into parks for a day.
PARK[ing] Day is a annual open-source global event artists, designers and everyday joes like you and I to collaborate and temporarily transform metered parking spaces into “PARK[ing]” spaces. The movement’s been going since 2005 and this week comes to Melbourne.
If you want to find out more and enjoy a city park sans cars rock up to the corner of Little Lonsdale Street and Hardware Street between 11am – 3pm, where AFH will be rolling out the astro turf and seats among impromptu pot plants made from old coffee cups. BYO cucumber sandwiches and frisbee.
Our bet is that this song might just be playing on loop.
