Photographer of the week: Jamie Wdziekonski

Jamie Wdziekonski is leaving the status of blogger behind. After securing a contributing position at Purple Magazine in December last year, Jamie re-launched under the new moniker Sub-lation (previously, OhJamie). As he explains, sublation means “to supersede, put an end to, but simultaneously maintain and preserve.”
Refocusing on his photography, Jamie has maintained his dark aesthetic but assures us he isn’t so dark himself. Shooting digital on Leica, and film on Minolta and Polaroids, his subject matter has ranged from Japanese street-style, to Brent De Boer of The Dandy Warhols and behind the scenes of Australia’s fashion industry.
Jamie works closely with Melbourne artisans Strateas & Carlucci after they too rebranded from Trimapee last year.
Jamie has his sights set on Europe next year. For more of his work and happenings head over to sub-lation.com.
