Pimp My Pizza

Have you ever looked at a pizza menu and thought I can do better than this? Well here’s your chance. Bimbo Deluxe and Lucky Coq are diving head-first into the fourth year of their annual Pimp My Pizza competition.

Known for their wide range of dirt-cheap pizzas and ‘eye-catching’ décor, the booming pair of restaurants came up with the idea in 2009 after receiving endless recommendations for new topping combos from their loyal customers.

Pimp My Pizza 2013 welcomes pizza lovers everywhere to submit the pizza that gets their taste buds tingling, no matter how weird or wonderful. Put your creation to the test against the likes of Andy and Ben from Masterchef 2012, Nova’s Dan Anstey and Channel 10’s traffic reporter Emma Notarfrancesco.

Up for grabs is the chance to win $3000 to split between you and your chosen charity. The winning pizza creation will also feature on the Bimbo/Lucky Coq menus for the following three months.

Five finalists will also see their pizza featured on the menu for the month-long pimping period, with the pizza that sells the most slices claiming victory.

Past winning pizzas include the ‘Pollo E Pinoli’- with avocado, chicken, pine nuts, baby spinach, sun dried tomatoes and camembert- and the ‘Fig Me Pumpkin’ – with Napoli sauce, rocket, pumpkin, goats cheese, figs and pistachio nuts. So no copying!

If you’re in need of a little flavour inspiration Lucky Coq and Bimbo Deluxe are offering $2 pizzas between 12noon and 2pm (Monday to Friday) throughout July.

Master chef wannabes can register their creations online via the Pimp My Pizza Facebook page.

Entries close July 28 and the winner will be announced on the August 26.
