Winter Tradition with all the trimmings

Now celebrating its fifth year, The Roast Collection will showcase regional winter produce with restaurants and vineyards across to the state dishing up the best of Victoria on our plates.

Over the next three weeks, enjoy over 100 events celebrating that winter staple, the roast. With over twenty culinary cultures represented you can meet meaty tastes from around the globe without having to leave Melbourne.

The Californian/Mexican Roast Buffalo and Bravas launches the Sunday tradition, hosted over three weeks at The Newmarket Hotel. Casa Ciuccio will have you cutting, roasting and meeting the makers in their private dining area, while watching your lamb slowly cook over the custom- made coal pit. For a real twist, The Common Man team will have you feasting the New Zealand way, creating an Urban Hangi on the banks of the Yarra.

Every Wednesday through June Huxtable will feature a different female producer. Judy Croagh from Western Plains Pork, Vicki Sher with Sher Wagyu and Kylie Walton will be discussing Wuurook Mutton. Along with an all-lady team of winemakers, enjoy a girl’s night out whilst learning about top notch produce.

So this June embrace the philosophy of the roast. Coming together with family and friends, maybe learning a thing or two, and eating. Plenty of eating.

Jump on melbournefoodandwine.com.au for full listings and tickets, and hurry as June has only 30 days.
