Festival of Steve

Greetings traveler! What say you hang your coat and hat help yourself to a cigar. Scotch or Bourbon? Neat, of course.  I say, how about a game of billiards? Elementary, old chap!

This weekend Melbourne business collective City Precinct hosts The Festival of Steve, a fashion and lifestyle exhibition for discerning gentleman young and old who take pride in being good ol’ fashioned men. The event takes place at the historic Kelvin Club and will host a range of activities and presentations open to men, women and their offspring.

Downstairs you’ll be able to deposit the children in The Little Bookroom before getting all dapper with a shoeshine and a haircut or cutthroat razor shave. Skyscraper Stan and the Commission Flats will be playing jaunty tunes to aid festivities. Jolly good.

Upstairs will feature a mini-expo made up of a collection of local retailers in fashion, accessories, food, coffee, books, home wares and odds and ends.

The President’s Room will play host to a day of mostly free presentations by the likes of designer and cartoonist Gavin Aung Than, Jay Leno writer Simon Taylor and cocktail ninja Hayden Lambert. A style session will run with advice from fashion experts V and J Menswear.

Food will be provided by Jack’s House chefs Leilani Wolfenden and Tom Stanislavski ,who have put together a tempting custom menu for the day, complimented with free ale tasting by local brewers Quiet Deeds. There have also been promises of billiards. By Jove!

The Festival of Steve takes place this Saturday 25 May from 11am-6pm at The Kelvin Club at Melbourne Place, Russell Street.
