Photographer of the week: Prudence Blain
Posted by Steph Wade
03. May, 2013
Melbourne photographer Prudence Blain’s work is an ensemble of images that together create a visual diary of her life. By using people around her as inspiration, she document’s her environment in a raw and authentic portrayal of the world around her.
Prudence recently showcased her work for Dirty Playground’s in April, where she tells us her extremely confessional work illustrated “everything you think in your head but never say out loud”. She uses mediums such as disposable cameras, film cameras and Polaroids to ensure each moment is instant, without setting up a frame or editing out imperfections.
Prudence strives for a snap-shot aesthetic, which she describes as caught in an instant; unable to be repeated again.
