Carbon Festival 2013

The 2013 Carbon Festival; at first glance that doesn’t seem like the most exciting event on the Melbourne festival calendar. But don’t judge a book by its cover, there’s more to this event that meets the eye.

Now in its third year, the Carbon Festival is one of Australia’s premier art, design style and cultural events and brings together the world’s most creative minds in a weeklong series of forums and workshops.

Perfect for the budding creative, the festival provides a window into the careers and creative processes of tastemakers and cultural influencers, with a line up including documentary photographer Martha Cooper, restaurateur Eddie Huang and contemporary artist Barry McGee.

Street-art fans should be sure to book a spot with graffiti and hip-hop guru Henry Chalfant, Stussy designer Shawn Stussy or Sneaker Freaker editor Simon ‘Woody’ Wood.

In its essence, Carbon Festival unites the creative community in recognising the achievements of outstanding creative change-makers, inviting them to share their experiences with the public.
