Philip Boon Presents: ML Vintage at Circa

Celebrity stylish Philip Boon may have dressed the rich and famous and travelled to the fashion capitals of the world, but it’s working with a cause in his home town that he holds closest to his heart.

Throughout 2013 Boon will be hosting a series of high fashion charity luncheons in support of Prahran Mission, with all proceeds going towards the charity. The Mission, which was established by the Uniting Church in 1964, provides emergency relief services to those who suffer from severe mental illness and the socially disadvantaged.

Circa at the Price of Wales Hotel will play host to the inaugural event on the April 17, with this salon-style occasion showcasing some of Melbourne’s most coveted wardrobes, as well as collections from high fashion retailers.

Melbourne’s Grand Madam of Vintage Mary Lipshut is Boon’s first guest and will be offering up her private collection for viewing; a retrospective of fashion from her famous fashion archive. Lipshut has been collecting since the 1960s, with her appointment-only boutique ML Vintage stocking over 4000 carefully preserved garments from European designers including Missoni, Pucci and Courréges.

As well as indulging in the three-course feast from the award winning Circa kitchen, guests will enjoy the musical stylings of jazz vocalist Hetty Kate.
