A Taste of Mauritius

Melbourne’s home to a lot of different cultures, but most of us only sample a relatively small sample – Italian, Chinese, Greek, Japanese, Mexican and so on. If you’d like to know a little more about a cuisine that’s not often available outside the realms of home cooking, A Taste of Mauritius is for you.

Happening at The Woodlands Hotel in Coburg (which is worth a visit for the Victorian craft beer list and wacky interior design alone) A Taste of Mauritius is a seven course feast designed by chef Jocelyn Riviere to bring this spicy, Creole-inspired cuisine to Melbourne palates and plates. Riviere says his cooking is inspired by African, Indian, French and Chinese cuisines.

In addition to the food there’ll be Mauritian beer, rum and cocktails so you can really get into the island swing of things.

WHEN: Tuesday 30 October, 7pm – 10pm
WHERE: The Woodlands Hotel, 84 – 88 Sydney Road, Coburg
