The hustle and bustle at Flinders Street Station gets an injection of artistic energy next weekend, as a series of site-specific artworks and broadcasts take residence. Thanks to the sweet talking team at Contemporary Site Investigation (CSI), Metro Trains have granted permission for the artist occupancy, which will see the inside of the station used as a performance space for the first time in over 20 years.

Running from Friday to Sunday, the event will feature works as varied as a piano recital in the legendary Ballroom to be broadcast throughout the station, and a re-enactment of paperboys selling broadsheet newspapers on the iconic steps. The occupancy will also spill over the road with salvaged sculpture works to be presented as a visual montage on the big screen at Fed Square.

So as you touch on and touch off next weekend, be sure and take a moment to enjoy the curious happenings all around you.
