4.48 Psychosis offers a brutal and poetic glimpse into the world as perceived through the fractured mind of British playwright, Sarah Kane.

A play with no specific characters or stage direction, 4.48 Psychosis was the last and most experimental work of Kane’s before her suicide in 1999. The work is a subjective insight into the depressed mind, and an exploration of isolation, dependency, relationships, and love. Artistic Director Matt Ryan intends to do justice to the abstract beauty of 4.48 Psychosis by working with an ensemble of seven to create an improvised, movement-based adaptation of the text.

Given the largely misunderstood nature of the depression epidemic, this is a play which is as poignant and relevant today as it was when penned over a decade ago.
