Photographer of the Week: Oli Sansom
Posted by Paul Drury
06. Apr, 2012
Oli Sansom picked up a camera a few years back for an overseas trip and hasn’t looked back since. The Melbourne native cut his chops at ‘some fairly chaotic parties in Fitzroy’ and now merges photography with his day job in design.
Oli’s work is defined by his tendency to shoot the back of his subject’s heads rather than the front. He admits ‘this puts me in terrible stead for any potential career in portraiture. But like any subtraction, I always feel there’s more wonder and story to the image in the end.”
