Herring Island Conservation Day

Herring Island is a sculpture island 4km from the CBD, down the Yarra River. Beyond the art Herring Island This site is important for its indigenous vegetation and natural habitats for native birds.

Accessible only by boat, the island is open for recreation and studying, and this Sunday they’re having a conservation day planting shrubs and native grasses on the isle.

If you’d like to chip in and help preserve one of the prettiest outdoor galleries in Melbourne bring some planting tools and get-go this Sunday. It’ll be just like that barn-raising scene from Witness.
