Fed Square: an oasis in the heart of the city

Melbourne is flourishing once more. To celebrate the summer season, Fed Square will transform into a lush oasis with grass zones, beanbags and striped deck chairs. From 15 January, Melburnians can relax under the shade of umbrellas and order food from surrounding restaurants for the ultimate summer dining experience.

Fed Oasis is complemented by a program of live music on the Main Stage, showcasing emerging Victorian talent from the FED LIVE competition and much more. Some of the music acts include Xyla Haig, Taylah Carroll, Seb Szabo, Jack Carleton, Frank James, Tig Lieschke, Raria, Dumb Whales, Keaper, plus Mighty Duke & The Lords.

ACMI will be supplying a unique outdoor cinema experience on selected Friday evenings: a silent film screened on the digital façade with live score accompaniment. In between, there is a program of summer classic films including Muriel’s WeddingThe Great Gatsby and Red Dog, as well as major sporting events including the Australian Open, Formula 1 Grand Prix, AFLW and AFL.

In order to feed your mental and emotional wellbeing, the space is still offering its normal program of daily activities such as meditation, Tai Chi and Qigong. Free wellbeing classes will also be launched in January, including cocktail making and cooking masterclasses, yoga, dance, photography, life drawing, painting in watercolour, fitness and much more. The full program of entertainment and events can be found at here.

For a rich and diverse kaleidoscope of experiences this summer, kick back at Fed Oasis.

Somewhere Else video sings of summer

It almost sounds like the premise of a reality TV show: pile a bunch of artists in a bus for seven days, send them across Mexico and see what happens.
