Underground Cinema’s Epidemic Outbreak

In a nod to the impending Apocalypse that’s scheduled to end life as we know it around May, Underground Cinema’s starting 2012 with an appropriate twist: Epidemic.
For those unfamiliar with UGC, the concept is simple: every few months a film screening is held at a secret location that’s only revealed at the last minute, delivered through a cryptic text. The venue is transformed to reflect the theme of the film, complete with actors and performances. And everyone (yes, including you) is in costume.
UGC is a great melting of art direction, theatre and cinema that’s super fun and a unique way to experience Melbourne spaces from a new angle. Previous locations have included Newport Substation (decorated as a futuristic time traveler world complete with Bill and Teds) and Ripponlea (all tarted up and looking to the part for a 1920’s aristocratic murder-mystery).
This time it’s epidemic, so there’s heaps of costume ideas to draw from: zombies, the four horseman, bio-suits, Government spooks, even that monkey from Outbreak.
Tickets sell faster than a mutating virus so get in quick!
The next UGC happens on March 23 and 24. For tickets and information visit www.undergroundcinema.com.au
