Three years after its debut, the Melbourne Cat Lovers Show is FINALLY back with an all-new home at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

In 2021, Australians owned an estimated 4.9 million cats (two of these are mine) with a staggering 24% adopted during the pandemic. ‘The timing is ideal to provide the surging number of ‘cat parents’ with trusted, reliable information from the country’s very best feline experts’, says Jason Humphris, Show Founder and CEO.

Whether you’ve already got a feline friend or you’re looking to adopt, there’s something for everyone. The two-day festival will offer visitors the chance to get up-close-and-purr-sonal with over 300 beautiful furballs representing more than 30 breeds at Pat-a-Cat. Jump on the chance to meet the floofiest or most hairless cat breeds and learn everything you can from their expert handlers.

Headlining the PETstock Stage are celebrity guests, including everyone’s favourite vet, Dr Chris Brown, and Jackson Galaxy, host of Animal Planet’s long-running hit show My Cat from Hell, who will be beaming in live from Los Angeles.

While your feline friend cannot attend with you on the day, you can spoil them rotten by shopping for the latest and greatest products and services, from fancy food to custom collars. For those still seeking a new companion, the event is committed to supporting animal shelters and organisations that provide vital care for cats in need. The PETstock Adoption Zone will host free stalls for up to 40 rescue groups to help cute kitties find fur-ever homes.

No festival is complete without mouth-watering culinary delights, and this year the new Feline-Food Trucks Zone will present some of Melbourne’s most popular food trucks for you to take a break and enjoy throughout the day. At the Paws and Prosecco Bar, adults can also fetch a glass of bubbly, while at the Kitty-Kids Zone, little ones can indulge in free kitty face painting before snapping show memories at the new glitter selfie wall.

Melbourne Cat Lovers Show is the pawfect weekend activity. Tickets are on sale now. It would be a CATastrophe to miss it!

Somewhere Else video sings of summer

It almost sounds like the premise of a reality TV show: pile a bunch of artists in a bus for seven days, send them across Mexico and see what happens.
