Six Acres Pét Nat

Here’s an age-old question for you: Why does a shorter working week feel so much longer, emotionally and mentally? There are differing schools of thought on the answer. The remedy, however, is a glass (or two) of wine when funday Friday kicks. This week, look no further than Six Acres’ Spectrum Pét Nat.

Perfect for a dinner date or a night with mates, the Yarra Valley winemakers hit the mark with their 2021 Pét Nat. Fizzy, vivacious and fun, the wine is made predominantly with chardonnay, giving this bot a dry finish. This type of petty isn’t too intense to consume and is countered with zesty, citrus notes on the nose, and a buttery texture on the palate, which will leave you wanting.

Nestled in the Yarra Valley region and located in Silvan, Six Acres is a family-run operation whose aim is to produce bright, textural and complex wines while honouring organic processes and sustainable grape-growing. For those playing at home, all of Six Acres’ wines are vegan. Since 2014, the Spectrum Range was created to be an experimental series, which doesn’t follow the conventional rules.

Short for Petillant Naturel, Pét Nat is a popular sparkling drink of choice for fashionable twenty to thirtysomethings looking for something fancy and bold. To get a bottle, head to your nearest Blackheart & Sparrows, Carwyn Cellars in Thornbury, or Seddon Wine Store. Otherwise, take a look at the stocklist or order online.
