Coming soon: Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show

We may not be entering the blooming season of the year, but we are about to be blessed with the largest horticultural event in the Southern Hemisphere that will make it feel like spring all over again. The award-winning Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show will transform the Royal Exhibition Building precinct with one last taste of some goodness before the cold days are upon us.

More than 200 of Australia’s best artists will exhibit their collections for all to see in what can only be referred to as a floral paradise. This year’s show will also feature a dedicated wedding showcase, floral fashions by RMIT students, botanical-inspired High Tea and a Flower Market, all for the public to explore and marvel at.

Even though many of us may not be gardening experts, the last couple of years may have been a chance to lean into our inner gardener. Hands up if during the pandemic you mowed the lawn more than we knew possible, grew new plants, learnt how to propagate and finally started to understand why little bugs kept flying across our screens during zoom meetings? However there are only so many Google searches and Instagram videos that can teach us about our new loves, so this is where the Flower and Garden Show can step in and provide guidance as we enter the winter season.

“Our team is delighted to become the official presenting partner of the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show in 2022. With Australians spending more time at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many people turned to gardening as a way to escape and connect with nature. We are excited to be able to engage with those who are new to the garden category,” says Andrew Martin, General Manager of Scotts Osmocote Asia Pacific.

If you are still looking to spruce up the inside of your home, the Scotts Osmocote indoor plant zone will be the place for you. Their expert advice and science-backed plant care products will help to ensure you never kill another indoor plant again. On the other hand, if you are trying to improve your backyard or your veggie patch, the Diggers Club Urban Farm are joining forces with Melbourne Skyfarm to present a sustainable installation. This will showcase heirloom vegetable and flower varieties grown in an ultra-efficient and productive urban farm set-up. Informative daily workshops will also be teaching guests how to sow their own seeds.
