Yeah Boy – something for everyone
Just a few weeks before Melbourne’s most recent lockdown, the Chapel Street dining precinct in Windsor welcomed a new kid on the block – Yeah Boy! The Geelong favourite has made its way to Melbourne, making all eaters welcome with its wholesome and tasty menu.
An absolute dream for those with dietary requirements – whether you’re vegan or can’t have garlic and onion – the menu at Yeah Boy very clearly lays out what dietaries every single dish caters for with an icon system, and the super friendly and attentive staff go above and beyond to make sure your needs are catered for. While there are vegetarian and vegan options for a lot of dishes, they’ve also got carnivores covered with some delish meat options – although you don’t have to be vegan or vegetarian to enjoy their exciting vegetarian options.
The best part is that everything on the menu is appealing, wholesome and nourishing – whether it does or doesn’t have dairy, nuts, garlic, meat, fish, sesame, soy, gluten or eggs.
Most of the dishes on the menu are designed to be shared. Some dishes that I highly recommend include the K’tucky Fried Cauliflower with jalapeños and homemade BBQ sauce, the mushroom san choy bao with ginger apple salsa, the burnt garlic chicken with spinach and mushroom and, of course, their signature bowl and crowd favourite, the ‘Sexi Mexi’ bowl – a generous serve of chipotle corn, guacamole, pineapple and capsicum salsa, corn chips, rice, beans and chicken or tofu. Every element on the bowl is designed to taste great on its own, or as a delicious mouthful with a little bit of everything.
The Yeah Boy team also offer classic cocktails like an Espresso Martini, as well as cocktails with a modern twist such as a Rosemary Gin Old Fashioned or a Passionfruit Kombucha Mojito – all cocktails are vegan and gluten free.
With a nod to their Geelong roots, Yeah Boy also offer a selection of beers from Geelong and the Surf Coast, and a wine list featuring both local and international drops.
And let’s not forget dessert – the vegan loukoumades with chocolate truffle sauce and biscoff ice cream is an absolute crowd pleaser! There are also cool ice cream flavours like miso caramel pecan, choc chipotle or spiced chai.
Parking nearby can be a bit tricky, so if you can avoid it, jump on the train or tram instead – or allow some extra time to find a park.
Yeah Boy Windsor is open for dinner 7 days a week and for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Located at 2 Duke Street, Windsor – just off Chapel Street.
