Mr Joe

Just a few weeks before the “you-know-what” hit in 2020, Mr Joe in Richmond opened with high hopes. Like so many hospitality venues, Mr Joe was impacted by COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions throughout the pandemic and their business never really got off the ground.

Fast forward to 2021 and the team at Mr Joe are finally getting a real start, having redesigned their menu and introducing bottomless brunch sessions on the weekends.

Located just a few minutes’ walk from Burnley Station in Richmond, Mr Joe’s boasts a large seating area with cool, dark blue hues and Scandinavian wood finishing.

The menu caters for all tastes, featuring cuisines from across the world – from French, Italian and Spanish influences to spicy and tangy Asian fusion. So if you and your friends can’t decide what type of food you feel like, or you’re arguing over whether you should have dumplings or pasta, Mr Joe can offer something for everyone.

Some highlights include the prawn wontons with black vinegar, the seared tuna ceviche with champagne miso dressing and the seared scallops with spicy pumpkin cream, hazelnut and potatoes.

Mr Joe also offer a selection of tasty Asian-inspired cocktails such as a ‘Yuzu sour’ (like a whisky sour but with yuzu) and the ‘Lost in Tokyo’, which combines shiso sochu, berry syrup and lime juice. You can also choose a selection of sakes and local and European wines.

Everyone loves a bottomless brunch, and on Saturday and Sunday, Mr Joe offers bottomless sessions featuring sparkling wine, mimosas, watermelon punch, espresso martinis, margaritas and Asahi beers. The bottomless drinks are accompanied by a special selection of small dishes.

The menus differ between Saturday and Sunday brunches, with Sunday’s menu a special Sunday roast. For Sunday roast, you can enjoy an epic spread of Berkshire pork ribs, smoked wagyu beef brisket, grilled wagyu rump, roast lamb shoulder, lamb ribs, thai style grilled chicken, chilli steamed mussels and a selection of grilled vegetables.

Mr Joe is open Tuesday to Saturday, and only for bottomless brunch on Sunday.
