The Good Food & Wine Show (GFWS) is Melbourne’s quintessential foodie event. Returning this weekend, sip, sample and discover fine vinos and delectable treats at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. From Margaret River to the Barossa, Clare Valley to Mudgee, acquaint yourself with over 800 wine varieties and mosey through more than 250 exhibitors.

The GFWS is the ideal day to scope out celebrity chefs and experience them working their culinary magic. The much-anticipated return of Aussie icon Maggie Beer (personal shout out to the burnt fig jam, which always goes down a treat on any spread) is sure to make crowds clamour in as they watch her cook with long-time friend Matt Moran.

In her new book, Maggie’s Recipes for Life, Maggie champions a healthy attitude to eating – it’s all about balance, variety and selecting foods that give you the best chance of being in good health now and in your future. Together with Professor Ralph Martin, they intend to fight Alzheimer’s and its impact on families. The result? This cookbook features more than 200 recipes that help provide the nutrients we need for optimum brain health. Please and thank you for giving us the recipe to life.

Up next, and gather round if you’re a fan of champagne, go beyond the taste and fizz with Kyla Kirkpatrick a.k.a. The Champagne Dame who will share her bubbling wealth of knowledge in Behind the Bubble. In this masterclass, you will get the opportunity to go behind the scenes and understand the bubbles industry.

Let’s be honest, Milk Bar has only scratched the surface. Visit the GFWS website here and plan the culinary adventure that suits you! We’ll see you on the weekend.
