“Don’t tell me what to do … Unless you’re naked!” hangs in bold, pink neon lights on the feature wall of Highett’s trendiest new café!

Opening its doors to the public in January, Sons of Mischief has quickly become a hot spot for south-east Melbourne foodies and coffee connoisseurs. (Our prayers have finally been answered!) With its welcoming and bright atmosphere created with light and love, and a clean colour palette, you’ll never want to go home!

Brought to you by Street Talk Espresso – one of Melbourne’s most iconic boutique coffee roasters – co-owners Dean Fourtzis and Rishit Patel have collaborated to produce a fresh, bright and health-conscious venue that is serving up excellence in every way. The café’s menu is heavily inspired by Dean’s cultural and family background. Dean is Greek but his mother lived in Israel and Egypt before settling in Australia. Rishit, on the other hand, owned and ran his very own booming restaurant in India. With such a diverse heritage, it’s no wonder that these two mischief makers have been able to extract all of the rich cultural flavours and adapt them into a wide variety of modern mouth-watering dishes.

“Flavour town” would be a gross understatement in describing the Greens Bowl, which contains the freshest and healthiest of ingredients, including, charred cauliflower, snow peas, Brussels sprouts, pumpkin hummus, baked sweet potato, and toasted seeds with vinaigrette. It’s the definition of starting your day right!

If you’re more of a traditionalist – we’re not here to judge – go for the Granola. Saffron poached baby pear is the centrepiece of the delictable dish, decorated by fresh fruit, mango and berry panna cotta and drizzled with a generous serve of co yo from

Perhaps you’re more of a traditionalist, (hey, we’re not here to judge) and would prefer the Granola, including, a saffron poached baby pear as the centrepiece, decorated with stacks of fresh fruits, mango & berry pannacotta, and drizzled with a generous serve of co yo from @thewild_

But hey, its brunch, so why not go all out with the stacked Buttermilk Pancakes dressed with Nutella, Canadian maple, smashed hazelnuts and fresh berries, oh, and do yourself a favour and add the vanilla bean ice cream to the side.

If nothing you’ve read suffices, then you can build your own breakfast (yas!) featuring all-time favourites haloumi and/or saganaki with wild oregano and lemon. Although everyone loves all day breakfast, there is also a wide variety of delicious lunch items on offer, such as the Prawn Bao and Southern Fried Chicken Tacos for you to choose from.

A real winner here is the option for a bottomless brunch, yes, you read that correctly, a bottomless brunch is available at the steal rate of just $50 a head! AND this offer is available 7.days.a.week! For two hours, you and your friends will be able to indulge in bottomless booze ranging from espresso martinis, orange mimosas, beers, cider, wines and an item from the bottomless brunch menu. Yes, this includes the Buttermilk Pancakes OR the Smashed Avo. Just make sure you book to avoid disappointment.

Not only are co-owners Fourtzis and Patel offering an outrageously delicious array of menu items, both are also huge believers in giving back to the community and those in need. They have both pledged to donate 15% of Sons of Mischiefs monthly takings to a variety of charities.

Good food really IS cooked with love!

Somewhere Else video sings of summer

It almost sounds like the premise of a reality TV show: pile a bunch of artists in a bus for seven days, send them across Mexico and see what happens.
