Ribs & Burgers Northcote

“Ribs & Burgers bites back with a roaring selection, attentive customer service and a jamming atmosphere.”

This Northcote eatery is the perfect spot to enjoy mouth-watering ribs, spicy wings or a not-so-casual burger. Ribs & Burgers left meat-lovers everywhere gasping in despair when it shut its doors for two weeks for refurbishment. It would appear that it was just long enough for this establishment to reel in its loyal fans and cajole the curious. Even clearer, this Northcote hotspot has re-established itself as the big contender in the burger world.

Re-opening just over a month ago, it has wowed all who walk through its doors. On entry, you will be taken in by the contemporary and almost communal vibe of Australia’s answer to the traditional American diner. As you scan through the all-pleasing menu, selecting just one option proves to be a taxing task.

But let’s get into it!

The gourmet burger selection is quite impressive – there is the Salmon fillet burger, for those who want to swim upstream, or the Beef Short-Rib burger, for those who like all things chimichurri and garnished with coleslaw. Personally, the Wagyu burger won me over in a heartbeat. Containing premium Wagyu beef, Spanish onions, dill pickles and crispy onion rings, this is one burger not to be overlooked.

‘The ribs?!’ I hear you ask. Marinated and slow cooked for 8 hours, only to then undergo a coating of Ribs & Burger’s secret basting, they will arrive at your table in no less than their grilled, caramelised perfection. The American smoky spare ribs or the smoky BBQ pork spare ribs are the two go-to classics here.

But it goes deeper!

As a brand, Ribs & Burgers adhere to sourcing the most ethical meat products available: their beef patties are grass-fed, antibiotic and hormone free; their Wagyu is premium grain-fed; and their chicken breasts are free range.

As a venue, Ribs & Burgers adheres to serving food full of flavour, bursting with every bite. Their staff are helpful, cheerful and willing to go that extra mile, including manager Jason, who was more than accommodating towards those with specific dietary requirements.

Judging by the crowd on a Friday night, Ribs & Burgers is proving to be a memorable spot for friends, families and couples, and has no intention of losing steam any time soon.

Enjoy!

It almost sounds like the premise of a reality TV show: pile a bunch of artists in a bus for seven days, send them across Mexico and see what happens.
