The Gentleman’s game: Melbourne Bocce League
Posted by Danae Flanagan

Celebrate winter with bocce, booze and BBQ every winter through the chilly months. The Melbourne Bocce League will get your competitive streak flowing at Mr. Wow’s Emporium every Sunday on Smith Street.
Known variously as boules, petanque or boccia, bocce is a game best played with four. Gather a bunch of work colleagues, friends or come along to meet some new faces. Twenty dollars gets you not only a very fancy membership card, but access to drink specials during bocce season and any time you visit Mr Wow.
Along with Richmond’s Chingon, a variety of Melbourne’s food trucks will rotate throughout the season. Because all that back hand throwing, wrist flicking and good old rivalry is hard work and needs to be fuelled.
So this and every Sunday, jump on tram 86 and have a bally time.
The Melbourne Bocce League runs every Sunday from 3pm till late at Mr. Wow’s Emporium, 97B Smith Street, Fitzroy.
