Let’s be real: 2022 is ready to go in the bin. So, celebrate the silly season in style and manifest some strong 2023 energy with Pirie Tasmania’s delightful spring and summer range of wines. Ideal for a picnic party, a Christmas shindig with friends, or a romantic night in, Pirie’s Sparkling Vintage Rosé 2017 and Pirie Sparkling Non Vintage are two vinos to look out for.

As Australia’s most awarded non-vintage sparkling wine, Pirie is the ‘brother brand’ of Tamar Ridge. Located in northern Tasmania, the sparkling range is made in the traditional method with grapes from Tamar Valley, known for its true cool climate. Classy and sophisticated, the Tasmanian sparkling is made from a blend of premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes.

Opening the Pirie Sparkling Vintage Rosé was a delight and was immediately taken with its boldness and the elegant salmon pink colour. The wines have lovely rose petal, strawberry and freshly baked bread aromas and its palate is creamy and yeasty packed with a fruit-driven complexity. It is ready to drink now or is suitable as a gift because the wine will develop nicely over the next four years.

Elegant and vibrant, the Sparkling NV is easily a crowd pleaser. This year alone it has picked up a slew of awards, including The Grapeworks Trophy for Best Sparkling 24 to 60 months Tirage at the 2022 Australian Sparkling Wine Show. This sparkling wine is a pale straw colour with aromas of crisp apples and citrus coming through. This sparkling works best with natural oysters to paired with richer fisher like baked ocean trout or yellowfin tuna.

Pirie – and Tamar Ridge’s – ethos is a blend of art and science. Their perception is that there is beauty in art and there’s passion in science.

Purchase a bottle of Pirie sparkling at any good bottle shop or online at their website.
