Pot Luck: Good Beer Week Special

In the spirit of beer and community that is Good Beer Week, three Melbourne breweries have joined forces to make our fair city’s first collaborative brew: the Abbotsford Ale.

The malty love child of Mountain Goat, Moondog and CUB, three breweries within stumbling distance of each other, the Abbotsford is a dark Belgian Dubbel, or double. Going all out this unholy concoction contains thirty kilos of waffles, raisins, crystal malts and Muscovado sugar. It’s basically like drinking a loaf of fruit bread, but alcoholic.

If you want to enjoy the fruits of the brewers’ labor you’ve got to be quick, it’s only available in kegs and in limited numbers. Over the next week  you’ll find it at Beer Deluxe, Biero, The Local Taphouse, Josie Bones, The Royston and The Terminus Hotel in Clifton Hill.

As an added bonus all funds raised from the collaborative brew will go to Collingwood Children’s Farm, so that warm fuzzy feeling you get won’t just be from the waffles.
