The 26th annual Japanese Film Festival is back, and promises to be the biggest and boldest celebration of Japanese cinema in Australia to date. Embracing films from the past and present, JFF ’22 will include films for both the young and old, and will bring us stories that challenge longstanding truths and portray the diversity of the human experience.

Time jumping historical comedy Dreaming of the Meridian Arc will open the festival across the country, with the Melbourne leg commencing on November 30th. With five jam-packed days of dramas, mysteries, comedies, thrillers, documentaries and old classics – the festival has enough to keep everyone entertained. If you love a good drama, Intolerance explores the psychology of people caught in extreme and stressful situations. If murder and crime is more your thing, In the Wake will keep your pulses racing. The festival will also include screenings of –

· Blue
· Baby Assassins
· ANIME SUPREMACY!
· Blue Thermal
· Lesson in Murder
· The Pursuit of Perfection

If you’re unable to attend the Melbourne dates, never fret! It is running across the country over several weeks. Find your nearest city below and embrace the wonderful culture of Japanese cinema, and maybe even follow it up with a sushi and sake session afterwards.
