Punters braved the extreme heat, quenched their thirst with cucumber and mint Smirnoff vodka, satisfied their appetite on delicious sliders, and danced to the beats of Melbourne favourite, Northeast Party House at Strike Bowling’s Live on the Lanes event. On Thursday, 21 November, Strike Bowling QV transformed into Melbourne’s hottest – quite literally – venue, and Milk Bar was in the crowd, lapping it all up.

Known for their high-energy and electrifying party hits, Northeast Party House played their new tunes, ‘Magnify’, ‘Calypso Beach’ and ‘Dominos’, as well as much-loved hits,‘Youth Allowance’, ‘You and I’ from their 2014 album Any Given Weekend, on a make-shift stage built over the bowling lanes.

Performing sans bumpers, the sextet said: ‘we’ve played in an underground train station, frozen ourselves performing amongst the snow, but a bowling alley will definitely be a Northeast Party House first.’

Based on some hilarious Instagram footage by @northeastpartyhouse, music is definitely their forte. Which is fortunate because their latest single ‘Dominos’ is a red-hot summer track. Take a listen to it here.

In short, Live on the Lanes was a sweat-charged, fun and buzzing event that was easily one of Melbourne’s best underground parties.
