Shine bright like a diamond, as you step into the concealed 1940s- and deco-era charm of Melbourne’s newest hidden cocktail bar venue, Trinket. Let yourself become immersed in a world full of sparkles and glamour, which you believed only existed in your wildest dreams or irresistibly delightful nightmares.

Let your host, Gem, a mesmerising prima-ballerina with a twisted sense of reality, mystery and madness lead you astray with her tantalising array of devilishly delicious bites and boozy delights. This eclectic venue extends across two floors with a secret hidden cellar bar, perfect for some adult playtime under the cover of darkness. The ground floor lounge is embellished with gold-gilded enchantments and elegant art-deco pieces. Admire the dressing table with an abundance of mirrors, lights, jewels and gems.

Gem so wisely reminds us, “Emeralds and Gin are friends, you know”. The playful assortment of expertly mixed new and old world classic cocktails featured at Trinket include, The Pina Colada Daiquiri (Pineapple-infused Bati White Rum, lime, pineapple and coconut syrup), Sherry Cobbler (Dry Madeira Sherry, Pedro Ximénez, pineapple, lemon juice, lemon and almond syrup, a spray of absinthe and smoked rosemary garnish) as well as the Jack Rose (Applejack, lime juice and house grenadine) all served with adornments – you’ll surely savour every sip!

Executive Chef at Trinket Melbourne, Telina Menzies, states that the mix of European delights and comforting classics are, “Tasty morsels designed to enjoy over conversation and a boozy cocktail or two”.  With mouth-watering triple cheese cigars with smoked ash aioli & honey pearls; Aperol Spritz Kingfisher with pomegranate jewels; samphire and black rice crackers; wild mushroom, truffle paste, smoked scamorza and enoki flatbread to name a few of the favourites, you’ll never want to leave.

Every Saturday and Sunday do yourself a favour and attend Trinkets unique and signature event, Dark Tea. A twist on the ever-fashionable, High Tea. Sessions are between the hours of 12:00pm–2:00pm and 2:30pm–4:30pm. For a steal of $45 per person you will receive a generous glass of Mumm NV, signature cocktail of choice, selection of triple cheese cigars, ash aioli, honey, truffles, chocolate torte raspberry, sesame macaron as well as whisky and pistachio fudge. Whether you’re starting your weekend or ending it, this is where you need to be!

At Trinket, every night is a new adventure. When will you sneak a peek to find your treasure?

Somewhere Else video sings of summer

It almost sounds like the premise of a reality TV show: pile a bunch of artists in a bus for seven days, send them across Mexico and see what happens.
