Are you brave enough?

Ghost Stories at the National Theatre by Prince Moo Productions is a large collection of talent. With an amazing array of lighting techniques and smoke machines, the audience was on the edge of their seats for the duration of the performance. Written by Jeremy Dyson (The League of Gentlemen) and Andy Nyman (star of Death at a Funeral and writer of the Derren Brown shows), Ghost Stories brings together live theatre and all the thrills of a scary ghost ride.

The show is an assortment of stories filled with terror. The theatrical thriller lacked blood and gore, but is shocking nonetheless. Supernatural beings of all sorts filled the stage throughout the 80 minute performance. The constant use of smoke machines make the audience feel as if they are engulfed in the story itself.

The minimal amount of actors in the play shows so much ability. The talent filled the stage with presence without the constant use of props. The acting skills were phenomenal. Throughout each story the set changes. These are effortless and keep the whole performance flowing. The spectacular use of lighting effects engage the audience and keep the eeriness going.

With a soundtrack to match the lighting and supernatural effects, Ghost Stories added each physical fright with a bang. The eeriness of the music aided these thrills.

Filled with laughs and scares, Ghost Stories is unlike anything in theatre. The tension is racked up with each story and how they all come together in the end. Without giving too much away, it is hard to say anymore about the theatrics of the play.

Without any hiccups, Ghost Stories was incredible. It offered a performance of thrills, frights and scares. With an unexpected twist to finish this clever play, you will not be disappointed.

The National Theatre recommends that anyone of a nervous disposition and pregnant women strongly consider their decision before purchasing tickets. The play is unsuitable for anyone under the age of 13.
