Melbourne’s newest outdoor cinema brings together the love of film and food to one location. From March 2-6, the Caulfield Racecourse will be the home of outdoor cinema and fine dining, as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.

Gourmet Cinema has collaborated with five of Melbourne’s top restaurants to bring movie-goers an outdoor cinema experience with food inspired by films.

Each night, one restaurant will take centre stage and curate a menu to compliment that night’s film. Epocha, Le Bon Ton, Baby, Mamasita and The European will each have a night to showcase their most popular items on their menus to accompany movies such as The Big Lebowski and Midnight In Paris. However, if that doesn’t tickle your fancy, the five restaurants will be open every night in a food-truck style gathering, so you are free to pick what you like.

Each restaurant will dish up a three course meal with amazing movie-themed dishes. These restaurants will help create an atmosphere that matches what is on screen. It’s a culinary delight for all the senses. Sit back and let your self be indulged.

For something sweet, Lux Bite will be offering their award winning range of macaroons as well as other delicate dessert favourites. If that’s not your thing, St Ali will be providing quality coffee all festival.

This four day event of food and film brings together Melbourne’s cultural love of movies and fine eating. This is the unique entertainment experience of the summer. Come and enrich your cinema experience with big taste and a big screen, a night to remember under the stars.

The Gourmet Cinema is a picnic style event; however, there are deck chairs available to hire on site. Please note that these are first in best dressed. Gates open at 6pm and give guests some time to settle and enjoy before the screening starts at 8.30.

Bring your blankets and spend a night with amazing food, great company and timeless film.

Thursday, March 3: Le Bon Ton – The Big Lebowski
Friday, March 4: Baby – The Great Beauty
