Alex Williamson’s That Guy From The Internet

The internet has been the starting ground for a lot of up and coming comedians, and Adelaide comedian Alex Williamson. Go on YouTube and look up his videos, especially his Loosest Aussie Bloke videos, they are bloody hilarious! I am actually a huge fan of his; not only would I regularly quote his videos, but I actually traveled to Canberra to be a zombie in Williamson’s upcoming zombie comedy flick Me And My Mates Vs The Zombie Apocalypse (what a title!). So yeah, I’m a big fan of his.

If you’re familiar with his videos, you’ll already know there will be a lot of swearing involved, and drug and sex references, and you wouldn’t want it any other way. In fact, one of Williamson’s opening jokes is him recounting when someone asked him, “Aren’t you that guy who smokes bongs in your dad’s shed and says cunt a lot?” That sentence sums up Williamson’s act to a tee, but that’s not to say it sucks, quite the opposite actually. Like the Fat Pizza Vs Housos show, this show hits home on its commentary on everyday Australian life and its warped (i.e. “Aussie”) sense of humour.

Ranging from using ecstasy at “Futures” to saying how if kids want to run away, they should get themselves abducted by a paedophile. Williamson also displays his singing and guitar playing skills for his funny songs about drug use and unsuccessfully trying to get laid (he sounds a bit like the singer from Kisschasy). You will most certainly identify with Williamson’s foul mouthed antics and relatable jokes.

It almost sounds like the premise of a reality TV show: pile a bunch of artists in a bus for seven days, send them across Mexico and see what happens.
