Great Southern Beef And Lamb Meat Feud

One thing that’s bound to happen on any public holiday in Melbourne, or indeed throughout Australia, is people will have a barbeque at home or at a park. But if you can’t be bothered cooking the meat yourself, then why not head over to Meat Feud at The Prince on Labour Day and try out all the great food on offer from some of Melbourne’s meat masters.

The meat masters in question are The Middle Park Hotel, Meatball And Wine Bar, Fancy Hank’s BBQ, Newmarket Hotel, Peter Bouchier and Gelato Messina. I’m assuming your salivating by now? I don’t blame you. All that juicy meat and its flavour washing all over your taste buds… If you weren’t salivating before, you are now.

As the name suggests, this event is a battle among the vendors as to who will be serving the best grub on the day, and the public will get to vote for whose food they liked the most. The winner will take home the Top Cut trophy.

Tickets are $49 per person and that includes one meal from each vendor, who will have their own marquee. The food will be served from 12pm-4:30pm, and then the trophy presentation will follow.

It almost sounds like the premise of a reality TV show: pile a bunch of artists in a bus for seven days, send them across Mexico and see what happens.
