Tinder Nightmares

Dating has always been one of the most incredibly awkward things anyone can go through. Having to sit through small talk while knowing the purpose of this mundane convo is to see if you two want to get into each others’ pants or not is not as fun as people make it out to be. And isn’t it rude when the other person starts playing with their mobile while you’re talking to them? Talk about leaving a bad impression.

What makes it worse is that they’re probably going through Tinder again to find another suitable mate. Tinder! Seriously! But yet again, that’s how internet dating has always been, long before there were mobile apps at all. If this is something you can relate to, then you should really head over to St Ali on Valentines Day to attend Tinder Nightmares.

No, it’s not your worst blind-date-gone-wrong-nightmare come to life. Tinder Nightmares is a special, perhaps not-so-romantic get together hosted by comedian and journalist Clem Bastow. She will entertain the audience with tales of her own personal worst dating experiences before guests can devour their champagne and dinner. There will then be a round of speed dating, where you will go from table to table chatting with peeps and see if you like them or not. (Whatever you do, don’t use your mobile unless you’re typing in their phone number). Here’s some more incentive: you could win Walk of Shame breakfast vouchers from St Ali; see, every cloud has a silver lining.

At $60 per person, if you’re not with a special someone and are jaded by all the bad dates you’ve been on recently, head over to St Ali’s on Valentines Day. For bookings, flick an email to ingrid@stali.com.au
