Pure ’80s Jazzercise

There is a popular sentiment going around expressing peoples’ general disdain for explicit cardio exercise but the desire to be fit and toned. This is because mainstream cardio blows because it is boring and it makes you feel bad when you can’t do it. For instance, feeling like you’re going to die after using a simulated rowing machine. It’s not worth it at all. It isn’t even the real thing. Hence the expression, “cardino.” Although legitimate this is a devastatingly unrealistic expectation. Do not fear, there is actually a way that you can max your cardio perks (toned butt, increased fitness, excuse to wear tight fluro clothing) without having to ever come into contact with a treadmill or some other horrific gym machine. Lol, no not an Instagram filter.

Pure ’80s Jazzercise. An exercise sent from cardio heaven where you burn calories by dancing to the best, lamest, ’80s dance tunes for an hour.

If you’re gonna go do jazzercise, you’re going to want to do it properly. And when I say properly, I mean doing an actual jazz routine, to some ’80s tunes, in a leotard.

So let us point you in the direction of the corner of Johnston and Chapel St, Fitzroy for some Olivia Newton John circa ‘Lets Get Physical’ style workout. This class boasts a HARDCORE cardio/strength aerobic workout through learning a beginner level dance routine. Essentially you are going to get a legitimate work out but you don’t have to be a So You Think You Can Dance candidate to get it done. The important thing is you a) looking the part and b) moving around enthusiastically burning cals.

I can’t envision a reason why you would decline this invitation, however if you feel undecided, I suggest you go watch the film clip for ‘Call on Me’ by Eric Prydz. And if you are still not convinced, you have some next level unrealistic expectations from exercise.
