So it’s winter. It’s cold. It’s wet. It’s windy. We get it. How about taking a break from complaining about the weather? Put off hibernation for a few more days and do something worthwhile.

Let us introduce The Lost Children Project.

They are “a generation of people who want to see change, people who value life, people who care to make a difference”, they want to help children that have been lost at the hand of poverty.

It is the brain child, the love child, the dream and the reality of Kate Brouwer. And wow, is it an organisation worth its salt.

Brouwer is 24 years old and Melbournian born and raised. She is passionate and dedicated and switched on and impressive.

The organisation was born after her recent trip to Africa presented her with the opportunity and inspiration to help.

“I didn’t go looking for a problem, but found myself led into a situation where I was blessed with seeing the bigger picture”, says Brouwer. “It was a situation and opportunity I couldn’t walk away from.”

“The Lost Children’s Project is a way of spreading hope, impact and opportunity, by inviting people to be a part of and involved in the process, by building a community of supportive people.”

Not only has she created the organisation but she is launching the project in style with the first of what will be annual Lost Children Found events.

All proceeds will be poured in to their very first project, The Childrens Home building project in Nakura, Kenya.

Feast your eyes and your bellies over the delicious dining and boutique brews served up in a one night only pop-up restaurant built by The Straw Brothers, all the while listening to the sounds of Yuko Nishiyama, Woodlock and Seven Year Itch.

With artists and entrepreneurs from all around Melbourne, and beyond, contributing their talents, and a secret warehouse location, it’s going to be a night not to be missed.
