COTW: Paramount Leader
Posted by Amy Leonard
13. Jun, 2014
Our cocktail of the week this week is brought to you by one of our favourite winter venues, Double Happiness. They have just debuted their new seasonal menu, providing gems like the Paramount Leader. Great drinks and a toasty fire around which we can huddle; they are literally doubling our winter happiness.
Ingredients
60ml Apple Brandy
15ml Agave Syrup
8 Vietnamese Mint Leaves
2 dashes of Angostura Bitters
Dash of soda water
In case you didn’t get the vibe from the ingredients list, The Paramount Leader is a zesty blend of apple Brandy, agave, Vietnamese mint and bitters.
It’s Double’s take on the age-old cocktail the ‘Mint Julep’, which is traditionally made with Bourbon and Peppermint, but Double has jazzed it up and given it a quirky Asian twist.
Add all ingredients into cocktail tumbler and top with crushed ice. Stir, add a dash of soda and garnish with sprig of Vietnamese mint.
PS – Vietnamese mint grows all year round so don’t worry if you fall in love with the cocktail, it ain’t going anywhere!
